Google vs. Bing Submission
Google: Requires you to verify ownership of your domain in Google Search Console. Once verified, you submit your sitemap URL once, and Google will crawl it periodically.
Bing: Also uses Webmaster Tools, but supports a "Ping" feature where you can programmatically tell them to check your sitemap immediately.
